Have you heard about Facebook’s Trending Topics yet? The platform is rolling out another feature to the platform in its quest to connect the world. Introducing more personalized trending topics will help make Facebook a one-stop shop for all your social needs: seeing what friends are up to, creeping deals from our favorite brands, and finding out the news that Facebook has determined we want to know. Once Trending rolls out, users will have three trending topics with a quick blurb that details the headline for easier perusal.
Facebook’s Newsroom reports:
“To the right of your News Feed, you’ll see a list of topics that have recently spiked in popularity. The list is personalized, including topics based on things you’re interested in and what is trending across Facebook overall. Each topic is accompanied by a headline that briefly explains why it is trending. You can click on any headline to see the most interesting posts from your friends or Pages that are talking about that particular topic.”
The company will be rolling out Trending to various countries in the coming weeks, and is continuing to test the feature on mobile devices.
Instead of having to seek the content we want to see, Facebook gathers that information for us so we can get the most out of the platform.
